Ascertaining an appropriate salary or remuneration for executive leadership positions is complex. When compiling a data set to reference for each role, it is usual to consider at least the following:

A combination of all of these factors influence the salary and remuneration package of a particular executive position. Compounding the complexity of ascertaining an appropriate salary and remuneration guide, many organisations are privately owned and do not publicly disclose their executive team’s remuneration. This makes comparisons difficult to reference. It is also true that for senior executives, it is usual for the level of performance-based pay to increase as a portion of the total remuneration. An executive’s responsibility increases, and given there is such a wide variety of different performance pay schemes, this makes ascertaining an appropriate level of a total remuneration package which will include short and long term incentives, more difficult.

The Salary Calculator provides salary package information only, being base salary including superannuation. All salary package information excludes any short-term and long-term incentives. The salary packages provided are based on actual search assignments and interviews, as well as the analysis of market research, feedback and trends.
